Proper packaging is essential to protect your valuable radiator during transit. Over the years, we’ve found that following these steps — even though they require a little extra effort — will help prevent shipping damage and save you the frustration of repairs or delays.
1. Choose the Right Box
Select a sturdy box that is approximately 2" larger than the radiator on all sides. A flat-panel TV box works very well.
2. Cushion the Bottom
Pad the bottom of the box generously with protective material such as:
3. Position the Radiator
Place the radiator inside the box and fill all sides with the same type of cushioning material. Keep the radiator centered in the box.
4. Protect Vulnerable Areas
Add extra padding around:
If we will be reusing your existing core, slide an extra sheet of cardboard in front of and behind the core to help prevent punctures.
5. Protect the Top Tank (Most Important Step)
Finish by adding as much padding as possible around the top tank. This is the most visible part of the radiator and requires the most protection.
